Hundreds of int’l firms to join industry show next month
HCMC — A total 226 companies from 21 countries and territories are expected to participate in a precision engineering, machine tools and metalworking technology exhibition next week in HCMC, the organizers said last week.
Firms in sectors like aviation, automotive, precision engineering, electricity, electronics, construction, supporting industries and chemicals will introduce their latest products at the MTA Vietnam 2009 scheduled for July8 — 11 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Phu My Hung new urban area in District 7.
The sixth annual show will bring a host of international brand names and the latest technologies to Vietnam, according to the organizers Exhibition Service Co. of the Vietnam Chamber of the Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Singapore Exhibition Services Co.
International machines and equipment makers see Vietnam as a potential market thanks to its rapid economic growth and rising attractiveness to foreign investors, despite the difficult global economic, the organizers said.
MTA Vietnam 2009 will feature nine international group pavilions from Germany, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
Taiwan has a lot of companies joint the event, and its pavilion coordinated by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (Taitra) and the Taiwan Machine Tools& Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) will take up 400 square meters of exhibition space.
Meanwhile, the Busan Economic Promotion Agency (BEPA) of South Korea marks its first group appearance at the show this year. Together with the group pavilion by the Korean Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI), the Korea pavilions will have 17 Korean companies eager to pave further inroads into the local emerging market.
“MTA Vietnam 2009 will provide the ideal platform for these companies to achieve a good understanding of Vietnam’s manufacturing industry and uncover the opportunities it holds”, said William Lim, project director of MTA Vietnam 2009 from Singapore Exhibition Services.
